Exhibition Introduction

In cerebration of 2024 AAPI Heritage Month, Chinese Cultures Development Center, teaming up with Press Photographers Association of Greater Los Angeles and local photographer associations, initiated AAPI: Living Heritages, a contest calling for pictures taken by folks from all walks of life that reflect how traditions, cultures, and customs of AAPI origins are preserved, celebrated, and kept alive in the community and beyond.

From hundreds of submissions, the judge panel chooses 20 winning pictures while 10 more are picked by online voters as most popular. Joined by 10 photos by renowned photographers, 20 winning pictures are displayed at the inaugural exhibition which invites friends to appreciate diverse AAPI heritages through the lens of camera.

In partnership with Greater Monterey Park Chamber of Commerce, Monterey Park Bruggemeyer Library, and Ning Zhou Museum of Photography, the Exhibition kicks off on May 30th in Monterey Park and continues in Orange County until July 14th.
