About CCDC
The Chinese Culture Development Center (CCDC), founded in 1995 in Los Angeles, is dedicated to cultural dissemination, research, and promotion of creative industries aimed at both the Chinese American community and the broader U.S. audience. Its operations span cultural events, publishing, and new media communications.
Since its founding, the center has been committed to fostering mutual understanding between the U.S. and China, and to facilitating dialogue between Eastern and Western civilizations. Over the years, CCDC has organized numerous China-themed cultural events for the American public, successfully creating a series of signature programs, including the “Cultures of China, Festival of Spring,” “An Evening of Chinese Splendor at Hollywood Bowl,” and the “Cultures of China Talk by Masters” series.
In publishing and exhibitions, CCDC has built deep ties and strong experience across both Chinese and American professional photography circles. It has launched several prominent cultural brands such as the “Los Angeles Chinese Photographic Festival,” “U.S.-China News Photo Exhibition,” and “AAPI: Living Heritages.” Notable projects include the “National Memories” photo exhibition at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and the publication of books such as, 40 Years of Chinese Students in America, and Through the Lens: An Asian American Experience in 2021.
In 2024, the center launched a new initiative, “Taste China”, inviting top American photographers to travel across China to capture the richness of Chinese culinary culture and everyday life through their lenses.
CCDC also publishes Meihua, a simplified Chinese-language monthly magazine focused on cultural lifestyle. Drawing from nearly three decades of cross-cultural expertise in culture, education, academia, media, and business, Meihua stands out with its rich content, professional design, and high-quality printing. It is now one of the most well-known and influential Chinese-language cultural magazines not only on the U.S. West Coast, but across the country.
Meihua’s new media platforms — including WeChat, Weibo, Rednote, podcast channels (Podcasts and Spotify), and newsletter — form a multimedia channel tailored to the needs of different audiences.
Through a sustained focus on publishing, exhibitions, and marketing services, the Center has built a dynamic promotional ecosystem that combines print, digital, and in-person outreach. It aims to enhance the depth and reach of cultural communication and establish itself as a leading cross-cultural platform on the West Coast and beyond.
